Scott Makin, MA, LMCH, NCC
Director of Counseling Licensed Mental Health Counselor National Certified Counselor
Scott is a licensed mental health counselor and a nationally certified counselor. Scott received his Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University. He has done doctoral work at Purdue University. For the past nine years he has been the Director of the Wabash Friends Counseling Center. He is also an adjunct professor in the Graduate Program at Huntington College. For the previous 14 years Scott has worked at various universities in the Student Development area, counseling area, and as an adjunct professor of psychology. Scott also has presented numerous workshops and training seminars on marriage enrichment, parenting skills, leadership training, and emotional/social intelligence skills.
Kara Kensinger, MA
Kara is a graduate from Indiana Wesleyan University's Master's program with a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is certified by the National board of certified counselors and working on getting licensed in both Marriage and Family Therapy and Play therapy. Kara worked at Wabash Friends in 2009 before leaving to do Counseling and Social Work in Cambodia during 2010. Her area's of concentration are couples, families, play therapy with kids, teenagers, and seeing individuals. She has worked with clients on depression, cutting, eating disorders, anxiety, grief, behavioral issues, anger, marital problems, blended families, and other mental health issues.
Suzanna Hicks, MA, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Suzanna’s passion has been to provide hope to struggling individuals and families. She has over 10 years experience caring for people. In 2004, she earned her Master of Arts in Counseling degree from Grace College and has been licensed by the State of Indiana since 2009. She has been trained as a Stephen Minister and Stephen Leader. Suzanna also serves as the Director of Counseling and Care at First Brethren Church in North Manchester.
Jennie Conrad, MA LMHC, CEDS
Licensed Mental Health Counselor Certified Eating Disorder Specialist
Jennie is a licensed mental health counselor and a nationally certified counselor. Jennie received her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University. She also works at Indiana Wesleyan University's Counseling Center.
Dr. Robert Brinkerhoff, HSPP
Dr. Robert Brinkerhoff grew up in New Jersey, and became a Christian at the age of 16. After graduating from Gordon (Barrington) College in Massachusetts., he studied at Fuller Theological Seminary in California and then the University of Chicago where he studied Human Development & Psychology. He has done college teaching, but most of his life he has done out-patient counseling as a Licensed Psychologist in New Jersey, and more recently in Indiana. He and his wife, Harriet have a son and daughter and seven grandchildren.
Stuart Hall, MA, LMHC, NCC

Stuart earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Washington State University in 1995. Influenced by his involvement in ministry he left a career as a practicing engineer and entered the counseling field in 2001. With a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Regent University in Virginia and experience working as an In-Home Therapist, Stuart moved to Indiana in November 2008 to be near his wife’s family. Stuart is a National Certified Counselor with areas of interest in depression, anxiety, marital issues, addictive behaviors, grief and loss issues, chronic/terminal illnesses, and behavioral problems of children and adolescents. He has also earned a certificate in the Dr. John Townsend Counselors Training Program.
Cheryl Oden, MA, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Cheryl graduated with a Masters in Community Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University. Her counseling interests include families and individuals dealing with depression and anxiety issues, substance addiction and abuse, family and marital counseling, sexual abuse, domestic violence, grief and loss, and mental health needs. Cheryl brings over 16 years experience serving families by providing home based counseling and case work to her therapy work. She is a National Certified Counselor and is working toward licensure as a mental health counselor. Cheryl is married and has two adult children.

Joel completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Huntington University, Master of Arts in Counseling at Huntington University, Master of Arts in Addiction Counseling at Indiana Wesleyan University and Certification in Gestalt Therapy at The Indianapolis Gestalt Institute. He has delivered various seminars nationally on Experiential Psychotherapy, Bi-Polar Disorder, Addictions, and Relational Needs. He has also consulted with companies in the areas of Conflict Management, Leadership Coaching and Team Building. He specializes in a variety of areas including: oppositional teens and children, substance abuse and other addictions, leadership coaching, personality disorders, relational need development, long-term depression, anxiety/panic disorders, trauma, and existential meaning.

Deb completed her Bachelor of Liberal Studies at Purdue North Central. She is currently working on her Master of Arts in Counseling at Huntington University and earned a certificate in the Dr. John Townsend Counselors Training Program. Her counseling interests include anxiety, grief and loss, depression, self harm and domestic abuse, couples issues, blended families, counseling individuals and family with disabilities, and other mental health issues.
