Scott Makin, MA LMHC NCC
Director of Counseling Licensed Mental Health Counselor National Certified Counselor
Scott is a licensed mental health counselor and a nationally certified counselor. Scott received his Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University. He has done doctoral work at Purdue University. For the past nine years he has been the Director of the Wabash Friends Counseling Center. He is also an adjunct professor in the Graduate Program at Huntington College. For the previous 14 years Scott has worked at various universities in the Student Development area, counseling area, and as an adjunct professor of psychology. Scott also has presented numerous workshops and training seminars on marriage enrichment, parenting skills, leadership training, and emotional/social intelligence skills.
Jennie Conrad, MA LMHC CEDS

Jennie is a licensed mental health counselor and a nationally certified counselor. Jennie received her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University. She also works at Indiana Wesleyan University's Counseling Center.
Dr. Robert Brinkerhoff, HSPP
Dr. Robert Brinkerhoff grew up in New Jersey, and became a Christian at the age of 16. After graduating from Gordon (Barrington) College in Massachusetts., he studied at Fuller Theological Seminary in California and then the University of Chicago where he studied Human Development & Psychology. He has done college teaching, but most of his life he has done out-patient counseling as a Licensed Psychologist in New Jersey, and more recently in Indiana. He and his wife, Harriet have a son and daughter and seven grandchildren.
Stuart Hall, MA LMHC NCC

Stuart earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Washington State University in 1995. Influenced by his involvement in ministry he left a career as a practicing engineer and entered the counseling field in 2001. With a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Regent University in Virginia and experience working as an In-Home Therapist, Stuart moved to Indiana in November 2008 to be near his wife’s family. Stuart is a National Certified Counselor with areas of interest in depression, anxiety, marital issues, addictive behaviors, grief and loss issues, chronic/terminal illnesses, and behavioral problems of children and adolescents. He has also earned a certificate in the Dr. John Townsend Counselors Training Program.
Cheryl Oden, MA LMHC

Cheryl graduated with a Masters in Community Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University. Her counseling interests include families and individuals dealing with depression and anxiety issues, substance addiction and abuse, family and marital counseling, sexual abuse, domestic violence, grief and loss, and mental health needs. Cheryl brings over 16 years experience serving families by providing home based counseling and case work to her therapy work. She is a National Certified Counselor and is working toward licensure as a mental health counselor. Cheryl is married and has two adult children.

Joel completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Huntington University, Master of Arts in Counseling at Huntington University, Master of Arts in Addiction Counseling at Indiana Wesleyan University and Certification in Gestalt Therapy at The Indianapolis Gestalt Institute. He has delivered various seminars nationally on Experiential Psychotherapy, Bi-Polar Disorder, Addictions, and Relational Needs. He has also consulted with companies in the areas of Conflict Management, Leadership Coaching and Team Building. He specializes in a variety of areas including: oppositional teens and children, substance abuse and other addictions, leadership coaching, personality disorders, relational need development, long-term depression, anxiety/panic disorders, trauma, and existential meaning.
Laura Gillam, MA, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Laura is a licensed mental health counselor and member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Laura received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Ball State University after her undergraduate work at Taylor University. For the past five years, Laura has worked with children (ages 2-18) and families in intensive outpatient, group, family, and individual counseling. Laura uses various expressive therapies including play therapy and art to promote emotional literacy, positive problem solving, communication and coping skills, and healthy relationships. Her counseling interests include working with families, teens, and children dealing with anxiety, depression, behavioral issues at home or school, trauma, abuse and neglect issues, adjustments such as with divorce, grief and loss, and other mental health needs. Laura has lived in Kokomo, IN since 2005 when she returned from a year of serving children at risk in South Africa.
Lori Horstmeyer-Grubb, MA LMHC

Lori Horstmeyer-Grubb, LMHC, BCPC received her Masters in Human Development Counseling from Saint Louis University. Her education focused on the entire life span of human development with a concentrated understanding on childhood and adolescent development. She obtained her License in Mental Health Counseling and became a Board Certified Professional Counselor. In 2005, she spent 40 plus hours in continuing education coursework to be a Certified Trauma and Loss Consultant. This training is a perfect marriage with the childhood education she received. She has worked as an In Home therapist, in which all referrals came from the Child Protective service. Since that time, she works part time in private practice as well as a contract therapist. Lori uses a holistic, faith based perspective, firmly relying on the wisdom of the ultimate healer, God our Father
Teresa Johnson, MSW, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Teresa graduated with a Masters in Social Work from Indiana University-South Bend. Her counseling interests include families and individuals dealing with depression and anxiety issues, conduct disorder, oppositional defiant, family and marital counseling, sexual abuse, and mental health needs. Teresa brings over 18 years experience of working with families and defiant adolescents. For the past 5 years, she has treating adults and adolescence who have been incarcerated. Teresa currently holds an Indiana Clinical Social Worker License.
